Education philosophy

Our philosophy is simple. We believe that every child has a distinctive personality. We take it as our paramount responsibility to 'iron out' the rough contours and make the goodness shine through from within our pupil's personalities. Here at Vagdevi Vilas school, we provide our children ample opportunities and means to help them imbibe all that is fair, moral and pious, into their character.

Books as a source of knowledge are an indispensable means to educate a child. However, we make sure our little scholars do not rely merely on that which lies within the pages of books. We simulate 'life' for them in all its aspects by means of simple, funny, creative and playful tasks and activities. After all, to learn is fun only when it is interesting and engrossing.

Discipline, orderliness, cleanliness and hygiene are the important tenets our children inculcate. We make sure there is a healthy balance between learning and fun, within the perimeters of disciplined and righteous code of conduct.

With events like the Grandparents day, Nutrition day, Each child's day (just before children's day), Kindergarten day, we try to make things interesting and innovative for our children. What's more! We even conduct a 'Convocation Day' for our little ones, 'graduating' from the Upper Kindergarten (UKG) to standard 1st!

Our Math Lab and English Lab are repositories of knowledge pertaining to these two wonderful subjects. These labs act as self-sufficient and complete units, aimed at making a child well versed and proficient in these two fundamental disciplines. Math lab ensures that Mathematics as a subject, does not strike unnecessary fear in a young student's heart. Also, English being the 'world language' is made more interesting by means of relatively simple and tested teaching tools at the English Lab.

Learning by doing is the slogan followed for all classes. An enjoyable, playful activity based method of teaching is followed wherein students discover facts for themselves and cherish them. At middle school level, teachers act as facilitators helping students gain knowledge at their own pace. Such innovative methods kindle inquisitive spirit in our pupils. Individual attention to each child ensures better participation, attentiveness and responsiveness.

Kindergarten Methodology
Based on the progressive philosophy, the Kindergarten system at Vagdevi Vilas lays the foundation to leave a lasting impression on the child’s mind.

It helps the child to develop good habits, proper attitudes and desirable social skills. It leads to better social adjustment and increased emotional maturity on the part of the child. Learning in the school is made enjoyable through the child centered curriculum following the playway approach of education. The all-round development of the child is fostered by providing various first hand experiences for observing, exploring and discovering.
Through monthly themes and weekly learning objectives, the children learn new concepts, allowing them to extend their play and to share individual interests and ideas.
