‘Let’s nurture the nature so that we can have a better future’
The World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Vagdevi Vias School, Marathahalli on 11th June 2025. The event aimed to spread the message of environmental conservation and sustainability among students and staff.
The celebration began with a special morning assembly dedicated to the theme
“Beat Plastic pollution, Our Future”. The students took pledge to protect the environment, conserve natural resources and adopt environment friendly approaches in their lifestyle.
Thought provoking speeches were delivered in English, Hindi and Kannada emphasizing the importance of protecting nature for a better tomorrow. Dance, skit and mime shows were presented to depict the impact of climate change and highlighting the need to reduce pollution, save water, and plant more trees.
The chief guest of the occasion, Chairman VVI group of institutions, Sri K Harish addressed the gathering with his motivational words and inspired young minds to develop love for nature, get involved in green initiatives and become part of a cleaner and greener environment. The head of the institution, Principal, Smt. Padma Sagar Mam addressed the students with practical tips on eco-friendly living and be responsible citizen of the Earth.
Various CCA activities were organized throughout the week, including poster-making and slogan writing to beat plastic pollution. A tree plantation drive ‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam’ was conducted as part of CBSE Eco Club Activity, students were encouraged to plant a sapling along with their mother.
An Environment rally was conducted in the school campus to bring awareness about plastic pollution and promote reuse reduce and recycle of materials.
The event concluded with a soulful rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ intrinsically linked with nature as it personifies India as a nurturing mother figure, drawing imagery from the country’s natural landscapes and resources. The song celebrates India’s rivers, fields, trees, and other natural elements, using them as metaphors for the nation’s strength, beauty, and spiritual essence. The World Environment Day celebration was a huge success and reinforced the vital role of youth in shaping a greener future.
